Hope Alive is currently taking applications for the following positions:
CHILD CARE PRESCHOOL TEACHER - This full-time position is responsible for the successful implementation of programs and activities for the Children’s Ministry preschool under the direction of the Children’s Ministry Director.
Requirements: Applicants must be 19 years of age; have a high school degree or equivalent; have a Certificate of Completion of 90-hour course in an acknowledged Child Care-COMAR required classes; be Medically cleared by physician as required by the Maryland State Department of Education (MDDOE) Employment Medical Report; and have a valid driver’s license.
Additionally, successful applicant must be qualified as Child Care Teacher in Preschool Center by the MDDOE Office of Child Care; have a minimum of one year of experience working under supervision primarily with preschoolers in a licensed child care center, nursery school, church-operated school, or similar setting or as a registered family child care provider caring for preschoolers; or one year of college or a combination of experience and college that together are equivalent to one year. Some experience working with school age children and infants also required.
CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER AIDE - This part-time (15-20 hours per week) position is responsible to assist with programs and activities in the child development center under the direction of the Children’s Ministry Manager. Hope Alive's child care program for infants and preschoolers provides structure and activities to enhance resident child and family development.
Requirements: Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and medically cleared by physician as required by the MDDOE Employment Medical Report. Successful candidate will provide evidence of approved continued training at the rate of at least six clock hours per full-year of employment as an aide. Experience working with infants and preschoolers and a valid driver’s license is preferred.
PRN (pro re nata) RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT - This "as needed" part-time position is responsible for oversight of the program services and safety of the residents and the property during evening and weekend shifts.
Requirements: Applicants must be 19 years of age; have a high school degree or equivalent; and have a valid driver’s license. Successful candidate must be medically cleared to work hours that require one to be alert and attentive. Experience in a residential setting is preferred.
